CHNOLA Participates in 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl Pre-Game Festivities

Last week, Children’s Hospital patients, families and staff got the unique opportunity to participate in activities leading up to the 2018 Allstate Sugar Bowl. Over the New Year’s Eve Holiday weekend, CHNOLA played a big role in the pre-game celebrations.

On Saturday, December 30, the Clemson football team and Coach Dabo Swinney paid a visit to the hospital to meet and hang out with patients and their families. In the auditorium, the players played corn hole and football toss and decorated Clemson gear with the kids. Everyone had fun cheering on the Clemson Tigers at the hospital’s very own fan fest.

Later that evening, four lucky CHNOLA patients had the opportunity to meet University of Alabama Football Head Coach, Nick Saban. The kids participated in his radio show asking Coach Saban questions along with the news media.

To wrap up the weekend, CHNOLA employees rode on a Children’s Hospital float in the Sugar Bowl parade. The route took riders down Decatur and North Peters Streets, where they tossed Children’s Hospital throws to football fans along the route.
